About Us
The Women’s Journal is the UK's number one online feminist magazine, influencing and inspiring modern women.
Our Story
The Women’s Journal isn’t just another women’s magazine that occasionally touches on women’s issues. This multi-platform consumer lifestyle publication was born out of the need to readdress women’s rights at a time when society has taken a number of steps backwards for women worldwide.
Created as a digital-first brand, The Women’s Journal reflects the behaviour of the constantly connected modern woman, delivering relevant, timely content across the platforms where women already are.
As a voice for all women, our team of female contributors consistently break taboos, provide honest insight and advice, help safeguard solo female travellers, and recognise female-founded brands and women-led businesses.
A Journal for All Women
The Women’s Journal exists for all women, regardless of age, background, identity, location or life stage. We believe every woman deserves to feel seen, heard and represented in the media she consumes. Our content is inclusive, accessible and grounded in real lived experience – reflecting the diversity, complexity and realities of women’s lives today.
Our Name & Suffragette Heritage
The name The Women’s Journal is a deliberate nod to the historic Woman’s Journal – a pioneering women’s rights publication first founded in 1870 by leading suffragists, including Lucy Stone. The original Woman’s Journal played a vital role in advancing women’s suffrage and amplifying women’s voices at a time when they were largely excluded from public discourse.
While The Women’s Journal is a modern, independent digital publication, we are proud to carry forward the spirit of that legacy, using media as a tool for progress, visibility and meaningful change for women.
We evolve constantly – editorially and commercially – to ensure our content remains relevant, inclusive and impactful.
The Women’s Journal is where real conversations start – for every woman.
